‎On the topic of the nature of Polite and Good, I believe that Lady Doris defines it according to 3 axioms

‎Axiom 1: Everything, be it an object, a person, or a thought, falls somewhere on the spectrum of Polite vs Impolite and Good vs Evil. There is no neutral, and nothing falls into both ends of a spectrum

‎Axiom 2: Something is Polite if it is orderly, brings order, or otherwise is perceived as law-abiding. The inverse is true for Impoliteness

‎Axiom 3: Something is Good if it brings people joy or otherwise makes their lives better (Broccoli was spot on!). The inverse is true for Evil.

‎According to this definition, their no-stakes game of poker is Polite and Good, as it has roles, and fun brings happiness. Gambling is Impolite and Evil, as it makes people unhappy to lose, and the house cheats/misrepresents the odds to win

When you say void in the big 4th paragraph, do you mean the dark nothingness or the blinding emptiness? Both are entirely valid and lead to really interesting ideas.

In fact, are the voids really that different? One is just one that Doris has control over...

Absolutely. Like, Lady Doris I get that anyone with that much power needs to have control over themself, but you are so repressed it is probably physically painful. All things are supposed to be in moderation, including moderation. Plus, isn't it the duty of a best friend to not let their best friend be evil? According to her own belief system, in giving Broccoli things and refusing to accept their gifts, she is making them lose the morality contest. When you think about it, that in and of itself is kinda evil.

I think Lady Doris' conflict here is that she thinks no one else is real because since she can see the future she THINKS everyone is a puppet just because she knows everything they'll do before she creates them, and can decide what they'll do by changing how she makes them, like an omnipotent omniscient god, but she also doesn't actually seem to be able to read minds, so she just thinks they're wind up toys of sorts, that she wound up and pointed down a path which they can't deviate from. Ironically, both things can be true, she can choose every action everyone takes and them still have free will, but she doesn't think they do because she can't see their thoughts.

But she also seems to have rules of extreme selflessness; why would she? Some constants about her are that she seems to hate loneliness, she actually cared when broccoli said they'll stop talking to her, and she created everyone in onder to not be alone; she was all alone in the void and didn't like it at all.

Polite & Good starts with "things don't have to have an ending, you are so good at pretending" and RGB shows Doris probably has more backstory than just existing forever in the void.

I think that Lady Doris erased the real universe, or at least left it, and hated the void because it was lonely. I think that's why she creates things, because she hates emptiness and entropy and couldn't stand the nothing around her, so she expanded herself to be the new universe and she knits it bigger every time she can to push the all consuming darkness away as much as possible, because she hates those concepts, and despite thinking all of her creation is just part of her, mindless, and toys, she still hates being alone more. She's more powerful than she thinks, in a way; she actually can and does create real beings, she's just not used to things that she can't see or know, and for some reason she can't see minds

I do think the experience of not being "omniscient" for a little made her feel more human herself

To be honest she thinks even herself isn't real doesn't she? She needs to learn a lot.

I interpret that last part as Doris giving Broccoli, essentially her child, all of the joys of life that she wasnt allowed to have. Its also why she has never once been truly mad at Broccoli. Always forgiving them and treating punishment as a formality than an actual educational need. At the same time, Doris does trap Broccoli in the rules and worldviews she's been taught from birth, thus spawning contradictions in the rules of polite and good
