Plus, they just made a big decision they aren't really happy with and had an awful nightmare. It's not how they should have behaved, but it makes sense, especially since Student just scared them. Imagine dreaming about someone saying they are going to destroy you and waking up to see that person in your room, and knowing that even outside of the dream they have a reason to be upset with you. You probably wouldn't be in a state to have a reasonable conversation. Broccoli really should apologize later though.
