Sometimes making a meal is a simple 2-step process and sometimes it feels like a 25-step herculean task. Let alone things like making a resume, conducting a job search, keeping up with friends, maintaining your body, reflecting on your mental health, etc etc. It takes so much energy just to exist and in a capitalist society it costs so much to exist as well. Hence why neurodivergent people are always dealing with some level of traumatization from the heavy masking and energy drain of navigating a world built for neurotypicals to be miserable in.

one of my friends is VERY [redacted word] right now, and we've had to register him to the nearest one (with his consent and help) so he can have people looking after him and making sure he doesn't do anything dangerous to himself.

now, i live in france;

and as far as i know, mental hospitals here are much better than in most places in the world.

and even then, the mental hospital my friend is staying in SUCKS ***** SO BAD.

like, he's autistic with big audio sensory issues (can't stand a lot of noises).

recently, he has expressed repeatedly that he CAN'T eat in the refectory because of these issues (even sharing really dark ideas caused by this issue).

yet, the hospital staff refuses to let him eat in his room because "it's the rules".

RULES MY ***** YOU'RE DEALING WITH MENTALLY UNWELL PEOPLE AT LEAST TRY TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.

and this is only one of the many things with these people (the hospital staff) that infuriates me to no end (euphemism).

so yeah, i don't blame you for not wanting to be sent to the "nuthouse".

especially that in my eyes, no matter who you are you shouldn't be sent anywhere against your will (except if you're hurting yourself or other people ig), what you deserve is to live a happy life.
