Further evidence!

In the pantry bug world, what looks to be an adult is lying still (likely dead) on the floor.

Lady Doris does not like it when Broccoli calls her “Mom” despite the term being accurate.

Sucre’s mom had that whole mini rant about how Lady Doris is, in her opinion, a horrible and neglectful parent to Broccoli. Also, it seems significant that mermaid mom was made in to such an important side character — almost as if there were lessons the story was trying to convey through her.

The plant people’s religious lore talks of a princess — the daughter of the lady who made all things — which is almost certainly Brogli.

In the 20 questions game, when Brócoli was thinking of Lady Doris, she asked if the person has a dead mother — suspiciously specific, especially when she obviously knew the answer. I think this scene’s purpose / reason for Doris asking more when she already knows is Doris realizing just how little about herself Brokkoli knows.

The whole “Polite and Good” thing seems to me to be an allegory for parents forcing a sort of “it is the way it is, it is meaningless to question why” type worldview on their children — specifically religious people and ideas that contradict or dismiss observable facts about reality that humanity, in general, has already come to something like a consensus on. (Ok, I’m dancing around the subject here: the kind of hateful and Cristian humans who casually mention that “gay people are, like, wrong and unholy. They’re all going to burn in hell.” when a lesbian couple is shown on screen during family movie night).

came here from the youtube shorts stayed for the genuinely peak lore . i love all of the callbacks to previous details, like how when Doris isnt looking down towards future panels she's actually sitting upright, unlike the previous pages where she's always fully bent over and looking PAST where she is. also the fact that when she does something impulsively, without knowing she was going to do it, her arm came from out of frame entirely, somewhere she CANT see to

Regarding the RGB colors, Doris' "I am perfect" dialogue line is in the middle of three circles, one each of red, green, and blue. You can also view them as three _rings_ filled with red, green, and blue. On page 29, "Suit yourself," we see that Doris gave Broccoli "A Practical Guide To All that is polite & Good," and we see a page titled "The Ideal Rules for you to Remember and Obey." Ideal Rule 23 states that "If you ever see three floating rings, run away, and report to me of its whereabouts[.]" Perhaps the "I am perfect" RGB circles are the three floating rings that Doris warned Broccoli about. Perhaps they are an omen of Doris' death, or her decohering into three things or three people.
