Sucre LePerdu: I KNOW THAT!
But I... know how to live here
These last few months I have felt out of place
I HAVE PARENTS WHO LOVE ME
EVEN THOUGH ALL I DO IS
DISSAPOINT THEM
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TALK TO PEOPLE
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WANT TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF
BRUSH TEETH
EAT
FOLD LAUNDRY
THERAPY
TAKE MEDICINE
HOMEWORK
MAKE FACIAL EXPRESSION
COOK RICE
SPORT
I DON'T KNOW.
NOBODY WANTS TO BE MY FRIEND BECAUSE I'M CRAZY AND BAD AT EVERYTHING
I FAILED ALL MY CLASSES
THEY PUT ME IN THE "SPECIAL" CLASS
AND NOT EVEN THOSE KIDS LIKE ME
Snake girl: HISSSSSSSSS
I AM NOT MEANT TO HAVE A NORMAL LIFE
NO MATTER HOW MUCH I DESPERATELY WANT TO
I AM NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE.
I BELONG
DOWN HERE
WITH ALL THE OTHER THINGS THAT DON'T MAKE SENSE...
Broccoli: Nuh-uh!
I-I know how you feel.
Sucre LePerdu: You do?
Broccoli: I mean yeah
I'm not meant to have a normal life either
Sucre LePerdu: Wh- BUT YOU FIT RIGHT IN!
Broccoli: Yes... I am very life-like

Broccoli: I-I thought you were just being silly!
Sucre LePerdu: I don't tell jokes and I'm not silly...
Broccoli: ...
Sometimes...
I feel like there's a bug on my leg
But when I look, there isn't a bug
Sucre LePerdu: That's not really the same
Broccoli. OK yeah

Sucre LePerdu: ...
Better at... being psychotic?
Broccoli: Yeah
Also all that other life stuff
I mean
You haven't exactly had a lot of practice
Sucre LePerdu: I guess.
Broccoli: Also
None of those kids we met are any less wierd than you
They just act all tough

I just realized “I am very lifelike, aren’t I?” Is almost exactly how Doris described the supposedly fictional universes after Broccoli returned from the Midnight Kitchen. Poor Broccoli doesn’t believe in themself anymore…
"I don't tell jokes and I am not silly..." gosh, Sucre, can you get any more relatable
this is such a perfect depiction of being neurodivergent honestly. from Sucre telling her struggles in adjusting back to her routine after everything with "I belong down here with all the other things that don't make sense" to Broccoli not understanding what Sucre means and accidentally treating Sucre's hallucinations only as a cool accesssory and not something debilitating to her getting it right after Sucre (reasonably) slightly blowing up. this comic is genuinely so comforting because it GETS that confusion and fear and lack of direction and the child-like perspective on things while also giving you moments when you realise it is not all like that and that there are people who care about you with your "weirdness". thank you for this wonderful creation, Secret Pie, this is the goodest and politest comic on the entire World Wide Web
sucre has discovered TTRPG, someone get them a dice set and handbook
Lady Doris looking at me like "I see the issue, you seem to have gotten attached to fictional characters"
same but for me she would also say "....you are not polite and good" and then id just stand there like ...thanks for stating the obvious???...and then she would probably disintegrate me or something???
Sucre is gonna give me depression why did you make her so relatable
